Putting up a 2012 Martin D-28 Marquis. This piece was bought from Citymusic and had almost zero play time on it. Absolutely mint with zero fret wear, and no scratches or polish swirls at all anywhere on the instrument, even the pick guard.
the Martin D-28 Marquis is a true classic made in the fashion of the Martin Authentics, but at an affordable price point. It is basically an Indian rosewood version of the discontinued D-28GE.
Some upgrades and tonal enhancements you get with the D-28 Marquis, that you don't get on the regular production D-28 include:
D28-Marquis Tonal Enhancements:
- Adirondack Top + aging toner (this one is cosmetically perfect with no run-out)
- Golden Era 5/16" Forward-Shifted X-Bracing
- Hand-scalloped, Adirondack Braces on the Top
- Fossil Ivory Nut, Saddle & Pins
- Thinner Indian Rosewood Back & Sides
- Vintage Style Neck
D28-Marquis Aesthetic / Comfort Features:
- Tasteful Diamond & Square Fretboard Inlays (Standard D-28: large circles)
- Bevelled and Pollished Tortoise Pickguard (Standard D-28: black plastic)
- Gotoh Nickel Open-Geared w/ Butterbean Knobs with Vintage Patina
- Golden Era decal on headstock
The instrument has a 1 3/4" nut and a standard scale length, and comes with the premium Martin-Namplate 545E Hardshell Case (Black exterior / vintage velvet red interior / gold latches).
