Background Info
I am a diploma level (ABRSM) student, studied overseas and came back to serve NS. I looked around many different piano stores and at many different options before settling on this one.
The sound is full, fluid and heavier/darker compared to the Steinway pianos I've tried before (I'm quite a fan). The reverb is just right for an average sized room. It's very good for classic Beethoven and Chopin pieces- definitely better than a Yamaha piano and a good choice for people looking to move to a more advanced piano. Key response is fast and the fact that it was imported from Japan was comforting (still not so sure about China made pianos).
Kawai pianos generally have very individual character and I fell in love with the darker, more dramatic tone of this one. Extremely sad to part with it but I'm moving back soon and shipping it overseas is too expensive.
