1. Vox Duel Overdrive Tube Pedal - $120 (firm)
Pure tube dual overdrive with in-built tube. 2 channels, each with Gain, Volume and Tone knobs. Stomping 1 channel on gives you that sweet vox top boost. Because of the tube the tone is very warm and natural. Great low end rumble. Now everybody who's played through a Vox AC30 amplifier knows there are limits to the boost. Well in this pedal, stack on the 2nd channel and a smooth overdrive kicks in - Like how an AC 30 would sound with higher gain settings! Still retains the warmth you'd want from a tube amp. So versatile because of the 2 channels, this stands right up to a Blackstar HT-Dual which is a popular dual overdrive selling for over $200 second hand. Check out the video -

2. EarthquakerDevices White Light Overdrive - $120 (firm)
Very versatile Boutique OD pedal!
3 Knobs: Gain, Level and Weight; Compression Switch
The main draw of this pedal to me is the weight knob. SO SO cool, you can get it heavier with loads more oomph and sustain at a fixed gain setting. Compression switch also gives you the option of opening up the tone gates or maintaining a uniform sound. So many options, and the pedal just looks great.

3. Catalinbread Formula No.5 Overdrive - $120 (firm)
OD pedal based on the old tweed amps. High gain OD pedal. You get the Neil Young ‘Brown’ sound with the click of the switch. Think Cinnamon Girl at your feet! The low ends are massive, just roaring like a jet engine. The sustain is crazy with the rumbling seeming to go on forever! Check out the gearmandude review which just sounds great! -

4. Voodoo Lab Superfuzz - $120 (firm)
One of the best fuzz pedals on the market, PERIOD! Based on Hendrix’s sound.
4 knobs: Volume, Resonance, Tone, Attack
Volume is the level; Resonance controls the lows; tone controls mids and highs – with the Resonance and Tone controls you get every kind of fuzz sound you could imagine!; and attack is the gain. Super easy to figure out, sounds really amazing and a great fuzz pedal.
