Selling this rare-one-of-a-kind Gibson Les Paul Studio Plus. I've regrettably decided to let go of this guitar as I don't really have the time nowadays to play the guitar as much as I used to. This Les Paul sports an awesome AAA-grade, bookmatched flame maple burst cap (dubbed the Desert Burst top). Condition is pretty good (8/10) with minor dings on the nitrocellulose finish but nothing major. I've sent it recently to Goose for a full fret level job to ensure that the action stays nice and low for slick, quick and accurate fret work. This guitar is also weight relieved but NOT chambered so it delivers the famous low end meaty grind and smooth, saturated lead tones that the Les Pauls of the old are revered for.
Pls note that this guitar also sports an ebony fingerboard which is pretty much unheard of in a Studio model unless you bought the alphine white version or went up to a Custom series model. Otherwise you'r pretty much stuck with rosewood for much of the Standard range- I prefer ebony as it delivers more clarity in spades which is essential, given the heavy low-mids tonal characteristics of les pauls which can easily slip into muddy territory. Ebony is also more time-consuming and expensive (about 7 times the price) to make than rosewood.
I've also done quite a few upgrades and modifications:
1) Changed the stock Corian nut to Bone
2) Grover Kluson Style tuners - better tuning ratio and stays in tune better than stock
3) changed the crappy Gibson 300k pots to 500k CTS pots
4) Installed RS Guitarworks oil and paper caps
5) Upgraded tune-o-matic bridge to a Graphtech Resomax Locking Bridge
6) Installed Dunlop Gold strap locks. Will include a matching Gibson nylon strap as well.
7) Swapped the muddy 490 and 498T stock pickups with a Manlius Fat Diane Alnico 2 (neck) and a Modern Vintage Alnico 5 (bridge). Handwound in the USA, these pickups deliver that 3D scatter wound pickup characteristic and clarity which no modern symmetrical wound pickup like duncans or dimarzio can. These pickups are great for any genre or style of music while still remaining true to their PAF roots.
8) Subtle yet classy cosmetic touches- changed the original black speed knobs to gold bell top hats, black switch tips to original Gibson VOS switch tip
9) Changed the stock pickup selector switch to a high-quality 3-way Switchcraft

Setup, wiring and all mods were done by Goose.
I know I'm gonna regret letting go of this baby but i would rather see it better utilized in its new home than sitting in my room collecting dust.
Going for 1.5k (firm) with hard case. This is a bargain considering i paid almost twice the price if you factor in all the upgrades, parts and labour costs I've painstakingly invested to make this all the more the perfect player's guitar.
