Selling my prized 2013 Gibson J-35 in Antique Natural. Pickups have been upgraded from the stock Element Active to the LR Baggs full Anthem system. Specs as follows:
Body Type: Slope shoulder dreadnaught
Top wood: Solid Sitka Spruce Top
Back and Sides wood: Solid Mahogany Back and Sides
Bracing: Scalloped Top Bracing
Neck: Mahogany
Thickness: 1.725" at Nut
The J-35 was re-introduced by Gibson in 2013 in its improved product line. Although slightly more affordable, the J-35 is not meant to be the younger brother of the more famous J-45. Most significant difference is the top bracing, which gives the J-35 a much bolder and livelier tone compared to the more subtle J-45. To my ears, the J-35 seems to have a "modern Gibson" tone, with added punchiness and 'zing' if you know what I mean. Seems to work better in full band situations as well when cutting through the mix. Also volume wise, this guitar is a cannon (not for the faint hearted lol).
Do a search online. The J-35 have been getting rave reviews worldwide.
Listing this guitar as I am still a rosewood / maple person at heart. So I am looking for the following trades in priority:
1. Gibson J-15
2. Full solid rosewood or maple back / sides guitars, preferably with pickup. Top up from either side negotiable, but I will not top up more than $200.
Price: A reasonable $1,800 with original papers and hardcase.
