Hi all,
I would like to sell this Gibson BFG Les Paul in goldtop, good condition (about 8/10), for $750.
Condition is pretty good, it has some scratches from playing (particularly at the back). These are superficial scratches, and can be seen in the photos below (the photo actually makes it look worse than it actually is). I can send more detailed close-ups if requested. The top actually looks beautiful -- it is "barely finished" (that's what BFG stands for), but it has a nice crocodile-skin pattern and texture going on.
Soundwise I find this guitar pretty versatile, as it has a neck P90 and a bridge humbucker (burstbucker 3). It has more tonal variety than my dual-humbucker SG, or my dual-P90 60s tribute Les paul. I prefer the clean tone of a P90 to a humbucker, and the humbucker sounds great with high gain, so it covers both territories.
It doesn't come with the hardcase (or any bag), and there are some scratches, thus I'm selling it for a low price. However there are no cracks or deep dings or any structural problems! So here's your chance to own a USA-made Gibson Les Paul for an affordable sum! Also this guitar is out of production, so at this price you're likely to sell it on without losing much (or any) money, if you wish to do so.
Please contact me at 9OO515.three.four if you're interested. Testing/dealing at my place in Clementi. Thanks!
Here's some info from the Gibson copywriters:
A decidedly nontraditional Les Paul for rockers who want a Les Paul with attitude and don't care about good looks. It has the sound and playability you'd expect from an Les Paul, while its raw look stands Les Paul styling on its head: unsanded top, no binding, no pickup rings, no truss rod cover, no toggle switch rings, no fretboard position indicators (dots on the side only), with wooden knobs that have no numbers. This rough and tough guitar has sonics to match: steamy hot tones from the novel pickup combination of a single coil P-90 in the neck and a BurstBucker 3 in the bridge - like having a Les Paul Special and a Standard in one guitar.
Mini toggle pickup selection switch located near two volume and one master tone controls. Kill switch located where rhythm/lead switch used to be. "Distressed" stop bar, Tune-o-matic bridge, and Grovers complete the raw look of this very different looking Les Paul.
