These are instructional materials on playing jazz standards. The CD includes sample improvisations which are transcribed in the book, as well as minus-one tracks for you to improvise along. The book contains the scores for the tunes, background on the composers, sample jazz licks for the respective tune, and scales to use over the chords in the tune etc.
