Hi folks
Here's something not often seen around these parts - an MIJ Ampeg AMG1, from the year 2000.
These are essentially the same guitars as the much-vaunted Dan Armstrong acrylic models, except these are all-wood. Just like the acrylic counterparts, this model is made in Japan, with the same headstock, neck-joint, body & scratchplate shapes as well as identical volume and tone layouts.
This has a sound and character I would say resembles that of a Les Paul Jr, helped in part by the two Seymour Duncan SP90-1® pickups that are regarded as faithful recreations of the 1946 Gibson 'soapbars'. The bridge/tailpiece is modelled after Gibson's wraparound bridge but with one important improvement - it has adjustable 'G' & 'B' string slots so you can tweak the intonation on these two key strings.
On the exterior, the quilted maple top goes over solid mahogany and is coloured in a translucent dark grey/purple burst. It's structurally very solid, and aesthetically in good shape notwithstanding several chips on the edge of the body.
Recognising its condition and wanting to clear space, I'm pricing this really low - just $480. I'll also throw in a soft gig bag for easy carriage.
Please leave me an SMS at 9-6-six-nine-2-0-5-7. Don't PM me though as I rarely check.
No trades unless for small items, esp pedals.
Thanks!
