Hi. Selling the mentioned to fund for other purchases, probably a better amp or something.
As good as new as I bought it about end of May/start of June @1200 at Davis,
therefore looking to sell at SGD 900. Not looking at trades.
Don't get me wrong. It's a really great piece of guitar.
Specs are a dream for rhythm. Swamp ash, set-neck, ebony frets, real hipshot, Seymour Duncan Black winters.
Playing feels as good as my Jackson neck-thru models or better. pleasantly light weight.
Has a really surgical tone due to spec selections and construction by Keith Merrow's choice.
Little scooped low mids as per Swamp ash description but it's good for heavy styles since it cleans up all the mud and leave spaces for other instruments to dominate the low mids.(bass, thicker style snares/toms and etc.)
Great high mids bite but not piercing. More of solid "bite" feel compared to brighter woods like alder.
Rich mid-range balls but not as extreme as all the maple neck thru alder guitars that just literally dominates all the "wah,ah,oh" singing ranges leaving plenty of space for vocals and bass attack/harmony range.
Punchy and extending lows that lets you enjoy whatever break downs you throw at it thanks to the low-mid scooping tone.
Overall, balanced and really modern tone for today's recording trends for fast and heavier style of music.
I don't play clean much so can't commment. But I imagine a coil tap is real handy and the black winter Pick up is really twangy sounding at times, plust the swamp ash, you may be able to have some Fender-esque.
I'd say its tone's suprisingly good for a guitar at this price range as it starts to catch up the tail of some of my higher end guitars. This is definitely capable to be your next all-round riffing machine for any style.
It's just that I have too many guitars to date and have to off load a few so to see the value not being wasted sitting un-utilized， and use that cash for a better amp for a more recording-efficient tone.
