I dunno who is selling the JCA20H :O
Hahaha J. Custom bro i cant run a 50watt all tube at home, my neighbours will prolly kill me for it, if not i will go deaf myself playing it in my bedroom xD
There is a way to attenuate the amp right ? Like on the edge of breaking up but not quite sort of thing hahaha, havent got much experience with tube amps!

I attenuated it via a vol pedal in the efx loop, worked very well, plus I was running it through the JCA 4x12!
Oh the crazy dude with the jap name is selling one with the friedman mods for $500+ with some BS NOS tubes or something. Davis is selling a new piece at $350 if I'm not wrong. I think if you buy a new one and send it for the same mod, you will still have some money left to buy some nice tubes for it.
IMO the tubes that sound best with this amp are the JJs because they are darker sounding, but I would put a Tungsol 12AX7 in V1 just to get some clarity.
And go for the dual channel mod bro, there's a whole thread on all the mods on harmony central forum

but the stock head sounds like shit to me ;(
I think the NOS you guys buy nowadays are gimmicks or replicas.
a real NOS tube by Mullards are awesome sounding.
Those reissue by Russia prolly sounds as dead as JJs ;S it takes awhile to understand about tubes.

I beg to disagree sir, my dad has been a hi fi enthusiast for half of his life, and tube amps have been in my house forever,i can hear the subtle nuances change when tubes are swapped, even for the same brand and model ones, and I can tell you mullards are definitely good, but the question of whether JJs and Sovtek NOS Tubes sound better than their reissues is definitely questionable. We have tried a blind test on a all tube amp with tube swaps and 1 hour warm up for tubes, and there were little to no difference between NOS and new tubes.
