[WTA]cort curbow 6

hiii guys
is there anyone using cort curbow?
im currently using a cort curbow 6 string bass.and i wan to upgrade its original bartolini mk-6-1-f pickup to EMG pickup.can anyone give me some advice which EMG pickup is more suitable?

lol that is sad. i've heard that EMGs are rather sterile sounding with not much character.

Each of the pickups has different characteristics. It simply is up to you to choose what you want. what kind of sound are you looking for?

that in itself is a strong character already : )

just curious how did the pickup blowup ?

hi, emgs are a good chioce but i think the main thing that we might need to know is what kind of music u play and whether you want a more vintage or modern kind of tone. If your into modern tones the emg will sit in fine. If your looking at Emg DC sized pickups the TW pickup is not bad and it is splitable to offer more range of sound. If your more of a jazz and blues kinda guy the emg might be to hot sounding for you, Barts would come in just fine at that time. Its possible to use emg's for jazz as well so dont limit yourself its just something you can think about.

thanks for the replies.my bart blew up i guess its because of the battery.unlike other active basses,cort curbow doesnt use clip socket for battery.only the pu blew up.luckily didnt affect other electronics.

im more into modern kind of tone as my band is mostly playing metal.thats y im considering getting EMGs

Don't know whether it's possible, try modding is with a battery clip, I'm just sayin'...

its absolutely possible,and its not troublesome at all.but there is a better way,which is to add in a diode.even if the battery is connected wrongly,the pickup or electronics wont blow anymore :wink:
