Alternatively, who has the circuitry schematics (for woolly mammoth or for any other great bass OD for that matter)? (yes I'd rather build one LOL)

Its good but a tad expensive. I got mine at $300 used. The really nice thing abt the pedal is that it dosent suck low end, so its mighty good for bass. Can fake a nice warm overdrive to all-out fuzz attak. Batteries last forever (3000hrs of use).

Wow... SGD$300 for a used one.

I think I shall build a simple distortion circuit and play around with some components so that the bass frequencies get some grind too..

Don't forget the mammoth is primarily a fuzz pedal. Its best used for all out fuzz.

There are so many fuzz circuits out there, I'mma try the simplest one first just to get used to things.

LOL, being a guitarist is so much fun, you guys get all the funky electronic hardware.
There's nothing much for me to do to drums... I mean, acoustic kits, cymbals, mics... pedals... metronome... that's it. LOL
