Wireless

Hi

Can anyone recommend a good wireless unit for guitar, please?

I saw these small 'bee' type ones that just plug directly into the guitar jack and a small antenna sticks out - there is no external pack that you need to clip on the strap (I don't want this clip-pack thing).

Does anyone know which brand this is, and where I can get one? And, most importantly, are they any good?

Thx

i think the first one was made by Samson and it was called the AirLine.

AKG makes one as well, called the Guitar Bug.

i think they're both fair for the price. if you want minimal tonal coloring and maximum signal and reliability, though, you'll want to look at something like a US$600 - US$1000 system by Shure or Sennheiser, or a high end Nady or AKG system.

one complaint i've heard about the GuitarBug and AirLine systems is that the battery cover and battery on the "bug" sometimes falls out. there are people who duct tape the battery cover onto the bug to stop this problem.

i think yo ucan find the Guitar Bug at Luther's.

Oh - thanks!

I knew it was 'bee' or 'bug' or something that I saw. I will check out the AKG one then.

whats the cheapest wireless system you can find here? I don't mind if it's bulky or whatever.

Actually, I have adapted a Samson (VHT) belt-pack wireless kind to be used for guitar. Have to make the cable adaptor for it, as the manual suggested that this is suitable for guitar use too.

Those who have belt type wireless mic system (mic clip, lavalier, headset mic) can come and find me to do the conversion (those which uses the mini XLR jack).

I saw a system dunno what brand for 300 at the shop next to in front of luther. It's for microphone but they changed it to the guitar cable jack so should be able to use.
