and they are really quite affordable and looks like the quality is not bad too
but any first hand experience from softies might proof useful for some1 looking for a bridge upgrade

but were they are made i'm not sure of just yet
and the purpose of tis tread is to give softies other options
rather than the plain old gotoh that we look so ever forward to planting on our axes

i have an original wilkinson now.. it feels the same as the gotoh one. stays in tune.. ill give votes to both of them but gotoh is always more readily available.

Hi Guys,

My 2 cents worth of info on Wikinson Parts.

Wikinson nowadays oem their parts from various parts manufactuer like Japanese Gotoh and Korean Jin-ho. Basically the better wikinsons are made by Gotoh so essentially they are the same thing but the specs wikinsons.

As for the Korean Jin-ho, they are originally made in Korea but as the cost of production went up in korea and the demand for low-priced parts pile in. They had made the shift of some of their product lines to China.

Currently, I still can differentiate the Korean and Chinese parts but this is getting more and more difficult as the Chinese quality had improved vastly and in my own opinon the difference in price as well as quality will close up in the next 1-2 years. Gotoh is still one of the prime leaders in top notch value for money parts.

speaking of wilkinsons, do you guys know where to find wilkinson products? only in singapore i find it hard to buy online then ship to singapore,.. im planning on trying them out replacing my stock trem..

i went at sv, they only have stock for fender standard 6screw goes around $65, in zen they have gotoh 2pivot worth $190, big difference.. +1 jumpin'jellybean,.
