Sort of used to be into Jazz/Bossa Nova back when Tower Records was still at Pacific Plaza.. They had quite a gd selection to test listen with and I esp love Desfanido(if I got the title rite)...

Lisa Ekdahl sings the music of Salvadore Poe, released some years back. all songs written and PLAYED by salvadore poe. he's one talented SOB. played almost all instruments except percussions if im not wrong. so that's flute, piano, saxophone, guitar, backup vocals.. can't remember if he played bass too.

the songs are really well arranged and written in his own very unique way. so bossa, yet so original. worth spending the cash on this album.

my band ( Singaprore wind symphony youth winds ) is playing Soul Bossonova ( the soundtrack of Austin Powers ) as an encore piece in this June's Concert...drop by doodz... :lol:

yeah man! cuban latin jazz, also all time fav's.. Afro cuban music is really danm happening! love the groove, alot of polyrythms and stuff like that. latin music is one of my first loves! very nice never fails to get people danceing

yeah tinto puente heard some of his stuff. very happening. actually stillwater i dont really have recomendations for these kinda songs, its the stuff that some live bands play at pubs and stuff like that. i have to say
Jive Talking that plays at chijmes is a wicked band, the whole band is great. drummer bassist vox everybody kickass.

They play loads of latin stuff. and danm! they sound super good. More commercial side, of latin music
