Some songs are just downright stupid i should say. If you understand tamil then you can hear wat $hitty meaningless songs they are singing.

But there are of course good songs.. Some very good melodies and lyrics.

However i think Hindi songs are of higher quality (music and lyrics) , generally speaking.

Kula Shaker just recently release a new album 'Strangefolk' back in August..
Listen to it and it's a very good album..

im an indian but i dun realli listen to the songs. jus watch some movies when family watchin. thats all. but i do go pass some nice melodic songs.by any chance is there any tamil metal band ?

Rudra's lyrics are in english mostly. There was a band called Kshatriya that sang in Tamil, most of the members were from Rudra. Was like a side project i think.

Older tamil songs were more meaningful with insightful lyrics, the modern day stuff is crap. Though I can't say i enjoy listening to any of them, old or new.
