Ibanez only has Toplok III locking nuts... and man, you can't go wrong with locking nuts, really.

As long as the metal is good, the QC is good, and the size is correct for your guitar, you got it.

Even the dreaded Ibanez TRS trem locking nuts are pretty fine!

Well, its one of the lower quality trems that ibanez used to make, its no longer in production. Its not THAT bad like a $40 trem (seen it before, serious!) but its just average quality.

If you are getting an Ibanez guitar, and you want a floating trem, go for these:

Edge
Lo Pro Edge
Edge Pro
ZR Trem

There's the Edge Pro II and Edge III which are reported to be better than the TRS so yeah... why not? ;)

Some models stock a ILT1 bridge (JEM Jr), its an inferior trem.

hi bro 8)

i think your enquiry here is about locking vibrato bridges rather than the nut, yes? if you are set on getting the RG320 which currently sports the Edge III vibrato bridge; it's a functional model, nothing to worry about.

sub bro,

okay im setting my mind on the RG320 which already equip with the edge iii thingy.. but ytd accidentally saw an ads in luther classified, a RG320FA for sale but its uses LO TRS bridge plus the owner told me that the nut is quite old thus ask me to get a new one and one more thing, he say he send his guitar to uncle beez for setup and repair work. wonder if i can trust him as in the owner. and the owner also told me that uncle beez added shim to the nut to decrease buzzing???? is it possible? im always been a fixed bridge guy thus all those floyd thingy really donnoe understand much... ::)))

not to spoil that seller's lobang. Imho all RGs with lo-trs isnt worth the hassle and frustration, coupled with a nut which needed a shim/replacement.

Unless you or a friend have absolute knowledge of what to look out for during the purchase of the guitar, chances are you won't know if a shim in the nut was really needed or is it uneven height of fretwires etc. Not doubting beez's work here but sometimes there are much more/other problems to be rectified with a guitar which is buzzing. maybe malcolm could enlighten us here

Look at your budget and choices, there are lots of guitars out there which will fit your needs. Make a comfortable choice cos i believe a guitar should always be fun to play with and not a bane when u pick it up. Just my $0.02

agree with u on it...!

in that case, the RG320 in question is a pre-2003 model. if i were you, i'd avoid it & invest in the current RG320 which is a good guitar to own.

there's virtually very little issue with locking nuts, if the entire assembly needs replacement/ a shim was inserted, then i'd suspect that it's more than just an old nut problem. again, pertaining to the situation concerned, i'd avoid it & just focus on getting a fresh guitar instead.
