Sup guys,
Have been listening to a lot of Metallica lately, and I have been listening to the songs more closely, and appreciating them in a way i have not before. Their numerous changes in style also intrigues me, hence this thread.
For Metallica softie fans, share your thoughts on which is your favourite album and why?
In terms of vocals, solos, overall mastering of the album, sound, style, etc.
Personally MoP comes out tops for me. One of the very few albums that i enjoyed all the songs. Kill em' All and ...And Justice for all come a close second for me. The latter losing out because of the horrible prank they played on Jason Newsted. Thank goodness they re released a remastered version of the album. And I confess I'm not a big fan of Metallica during the Load/ReLoad era simply because i thought some of their songs sounded weird and totally different from their early days (feel free to disagree). And I dare say I kinda liked St. anger, I just don't know what went wrong with Lars Ulrich's snare.
Anyway I'm not trying to bring down any of their albums here, cos they're Metallica and lets face it, none of us can recreate another Metallica. Just wanna gather opinions so maybe we can could all appreciate the albums we didn't really like differently now that we hear what others have to say
