Which is easier to learn? chords or tabs?

Well, depends on the song. Tabs are obviously more detailed. Chords are more suitable for strum-and-sing-along songs.

Tabs is easy.. But so are chords. (Aren't they virtually the same when 'numbered' out?)
Please don't become a 'tab man'. Where you only remember where to press n hammer n pull off and stuff..but not knowing a single siht you're playing. (what is this? a C? a D? what's a minor?!! i thought this song is erm..5--7--5--8--0)) things like that.

(in those tabs contain the chords on top usually..remember 'em at the very least)

when i first started out i learnt chords from a friend. Then later on learnt how to read tabs from another friend. I'd recommend learning chords first. Get your strumming right the learn picking. It's better that way imo.

i mainly use guitar pro nowadays.. mixture of chords & tabs..

but topic-wise, it would tabs easier..

ear sometimes not accurate la dei.......not everyone is blessed with perfect pitch

but then again, the tabs on the net are also wrong.

Combination of both i say.
