Hi frens. I recently bought a Hamer Vector with an alder body n rosewood fretboard. I decided to upgrade the pups to dimarzios'. Any recommendations wld be highly appreciated. I play heavy rock n power metal. Thks much.

Bro rlq69, I haf breeds neck n bridge for my ibanez, awesome sounds!

Bro dodgethis, thks for the link. d:-D

I think im going for the breed on neck but im undecided whether to go for super3 or super distortion pups for the bridge . Any advice on the choices? thks in advance.

something about it being thin sounding.. it was designed for Steve Vai but he uses a lot of signal processors and rack effects to get his tone. dont quote me on it tho. go google:P

How so? is it because the harmonics pop out like mad compared to other similar output pickups?

I guess his friend meant it's hard for a beginner to use since it's so hot and loud. All the sloppy playing and stuff kinda show out too well with this pickup. That being said, still my favourite. Have a pair on almost all my guitars. LOL!

the Evo bridge is awesome cos it's a very responsive pickup & harmonically rich. I like the Evo and Alder body combo a lot (or rather, every single Jem7V that I've tried).

I can't put my finger on it but I don't really like the Liquifire and Crunch lab combo. I like the Crunch Lab but I would prefer the Air Norton compared to the Liquifire. I've tried this combo on a BFR and yeah, didn't blow me away or anything. The crunch lab is really good for crunchy rhythms (the name speaks for itself). Have to note that the BFR is flamed maple on mahogany whereas his regular JP6s are all made of basswood. None made of Alder and to be honest, I wouldn't know how that combo would sound like with those pickups. If you want to experiment, by all means but I feel that Alder and Evo set combo is a tested and proven nice combination.

You are right. The bridge screams like no tomorrow while the neck is warm and rich. I've also tried Evos on a few other body type with good responses. Mahogany, Maple and basswood. On Basswood, it's kinda muffled thanks to the mid bass overdose of both the body and the pickup but on denser woodtype bodies, the highs balances out the inherent mids of the pickup. That being said, still an awesome pickup.
