tht bass on ur avatar is the one painted? looks nice

anghoonking ..

no lah .. hahaha .. that's a stock yamaha paint job ..

my previous avatar was the one that i finished. Some of the other SOFTies has seen it ..

you can check out photobucket ... go find my user name "exinated" .. i have some pics of my bass that i finished. It's a Fender Warmoth V ..

basically i sanded off the old finish ..and used a wood dye to dye the wood .. the grain popped out really nice after that .. i then used a spray lacquer to cover the wood dye . cos it's powder after it dries ... after that i had a really nice walnut coloured bass .. it didn't turn out the colour i wanted .. i wanted a tangerine orange colour .. but hey .. a good try though . =) .. i got some experience sanding down my bass ..

iverson769 on SOFT is the proud owner of that bass now! ..

tht is some kick ass mamoth u gt there man!
so when doing all those paintings and laquering, u have to disasemble all the knobs, the bridge , the pickups and everything else?

I think guitar77 offers it. Except that they have to ship your guitar to Thailand - the people refinishing it are also the luthiers who build the POTS if I am not mistaken.

anghoonking: yeah .. i had to take off all the knobs .. pots .. bridge .. basically all metal parts .. EXCEPT ..for my pickups .. cos i dunno how to wire them back .. so what i did was to tape them with masking tape and then spray the lacquer .. works .. =) .. but must be careful lah ..
