haha.Is it true art preamps are cheap and reliable/good?

I mean i read reviews on it and all.

Planning probably to get a condenser mic to match it.

no worries.

depends on which model you get i guess. generally, reviews on harmony etc are mixed. the lower end models don't seem to be very desirable. i would encourage you to look at the Studio Projects VTB-1 or FMR Audio's ReallyNicePreamp. those seem to be getting pretty good reviews for the budget preamp market.

good stuff can be found off thegearpage.net as well. some of them are willing to ship to SG. some dude is selling a Grace101 design preamp for eg. at US$400. what with the current exchange quite worth it i guess. i honestly do not know what kind of character it imparts to your sound but read good reviews on it as well.
