anyone else besides Swee*overpriced*Lee carries the Roland AMPs?specifically the Cube X series, the 15,20,30X ones...
and between the 15 and 20...which is more recommended?if i'm not going to use pedals for effects, can i trust the onboard delay/reverb etc. on the 20X?

>.> think I'm asking the wrong thing for my second question.
actually i should be asking:
does it seem reasonable that i get a Roland Cube 15X first.play around with what it has, while trying to learn some basic e-guitart playing, then after that maybe get a Zoom G2.1U pedal for more effects???i mean, does the Roland Cube offer a good enough Lead Channel or should I just get both the pedal and amp together and use the pedal for distortion/overdrive etc.?

A Roland Cube is a good practice amplifier. I've got a 30 Watts Cube myself, and I tihnk its a fantastic amp. It plays clean tones relatively well, and the lead/distorted tones are quite nice as well.

Since you intend to start playing guitar, then the Roland Cube would be more then sufficient. Of course, when you're much better in your playing style and more anal about the type of tones you want, you can change amps and get a few pedals.
The onboard effects are sufficient, but still lack flexibility a proper pedalboard can offer

I would actually recommend u getting the Roland Cube 20x because it offers more effects for u to try on, then once u have the basic hang of effects, buy urself some pedeals or even a multi-effects pedal. :) Good luck bro

WHAT!?LOL!!!haha!!
hmm...anyways...is it more cost-efficient to spend on a 15X and a multi-effects processor such as the Zoom G2.1U or a 20X,THEN when i'm good enough, get a multi effects unit.the back of my mind is trying to tell me that the 15X + multi-effects is a better deal...cos' multi effects do come with the reverb/tremolo all that right?those effects that the 20x offer.

btw...if i do get a multi effects unit with the 15x/20x,would i rely on the distortion channels on the cube or the multi effects pedal?

Hmm, it depends. For the cubes, you can't overdrive and distort at the same time, so unless the onboard effects are to your liking and are sufficient, then getting the multi-effects pedal would probably be more worth it

Anyway, Sweelee is the official distributor, so you might want to go and enquire about it from them. Last I remembered, they had 40% off what's stated on the website, and they're probably the cheapest around.

If you really want to try, you can try getting the 20X and the Effects pedal. the 20x, in my opinion, is a better practice amp

hmmm, what makes you say the 20X is a better practise amp and not the 15X??cos' i'm thinking of getting the simpler, basic 15X,then get effects from a multi-fx unit, dunno if it's more worth it this way.

anyways,where's Swee Lee's address ah...the website so big i can't even find a contact us :(

the roland cube cleans are good i can vouch for that.
the only thing im not not please with is the on board distortion.
probably just me,don't sounds good to me.

i use a 15x btw.

hello!sorry to hijack TS but i'm a beginner going to get some gear as well.wanna get some more experienced advice/opinions!
when i get my stuff, what extras should I buy?extra sets of strings??picks?tuners??gig bag???
how do i know what kind of strings to buy?or just ask the shop-assistant to recommend??and then tuners?i believe KORG tuners were the best???

yes i use the boss md-2 pedal for distortion.
hmm the power squeezer is good, but i dont use it much as i dont practise much in the night.complains are a definte.

yes sv guitars and standardvalue are owned by the same guy Mike.

Why I prefer the 20X then the 15X is because it gives you more tone options, has an in-built tuner and has the power squeezer option. The power squeezer allows you to play at night without lowering down the volume too much, therefore not compromising the tone too much either, especially if you have very cranky siblings like mine, where they start screaming as long as they THINK they can hear it

I do a lot of practice at night because the day is occupied by the piano, so the power squeezer option works for me
