where are u guys taking your lessons?

this is very subjective it depends on what a person wants to learn.
there must be a connection btw the teacher and student in order for the student to exceed. and weather the teacher is willingly to impart his knowledge to you. YOU SHOULD DIVE DEEP if you want to really learn alot from someone.
choose a teacher . depends on ur genre if you are going for classical and basic get yamaha christophric ,its very standard base and you will see ur own progress.
if you are learning pop jazz get to a contempory school , play-by-ear hark music yamaha etc etc. look under soft.com weblinks. in this maybe the teacher will teach you songs instead of the sylbas and how to get over chords improvise by ear etc etc.
want abit of classical and jazz get a private teacher like me !!! LOLS joking
get someone who you think is able to teach you in both skills. classical and jazz are different things you can hardly find a pianist skilled in both , the way classical have their techniques is different from jazz standards.
