i stay in the east but i head to the penin area for guitar stuff.

sweelee in katong has too little stuff imho lol

peninsular shops like TY, Guitar77, Davis, SV for eyecandy. Its becoming a bad habit where i go on a weekly basis to check that a few of the guitars I've been eyeing has not been bought already. But buying-wise, I have no strict obligations. If the store has the guitar I like, and my wallet is getting a bit heavy, the guitar is coming home with me.

Peninsula have lots of guitar shops, I worked at Clarke Quay months ago and I went there after work, it has all the stuff you need, the staff are friendly too.

If you stay in the East (read: TAMPINES), you can check out Buddy Music. It is located at Tampines Mart, right beside McDonalds.

It sells acoustic guitars, electric guitars, classical guitars, ukuleles, cajons, amps and accessories and some guitar pedals. don't expect to find "branded guitars" although they have some used ones on sale. However, do test the guitars with an open mind and ears. From my experience, you will be pleasantly surprised.

Great non-"branded" guitars at heartland prices :D

More importantly, they also do servicing/set-up/repair work. they almost always do it right in front of you so you can be assured that your instrument is given the right treatment.

Wow! I didn't know this. Cool man. :p

1. TYMusic - the most friendliest and accommodating guitar shop owners! EVER. I don;t trust their technical skills though, they usually don't know some MODs in some pedals or even replacement of simple pedal switch but they are still top on my list. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS EVERYTHING to me.

2. Swee Lee - They have changed a LOT. Prices... customer service, even the store look. Awesome guys in Bras Basah.

3. BEEZ - This guy is awesome... very friendly as well. Saves all the numbers of the guy who inquire to him. My friend contacted him several months ago for some inquiries.... and he still remembers the name and numbers.. my friend didn't even go there. He just inquired. BEEZ will also fix the guitar in front of you.

4. SV Guitars - I think i've tried almost all of the effects there... I also purchased some of their pedals and recommended to my buddies. They're pretty nice...

WORST....

Some handful guitar shops in Peninsula... good thing my GOOD experience with most of the shops there outnumbers the worst of the WORST..... I can still remember the guy who sold a used, rusty pickups to my buddy..... you are reading this. but oh well/// it has been settled and this topic is all about the good shops so I'll shut up now. :p

Well, Goose isn't exactly a shop but he's the only person I take my pedals and guitars to! Haha. Super friendly! Great guy! Goes out of his way to get stuff done, and really cares about your instrument being playable for you!
