hello everyone! i recently bought an acoustic drumset and i stuffed 4 pillows and a thick blanket into my bass drum.
apart from that, i placed a carpet and a thick blanket below the bass drum.
But the impact from the bass is still huge on the floor! any ideas guys? :???:

it's called mechanical vibrations..if you don't want that to happen. suspend your kick drum on 2 0.1mm steel cables from the ceiling and enclose in a vacuum box. then you will definitely have no vibrations at all.

was that meant to be sarcastic, evident? ahaha.

maybe you could try raising the legs of the bass drum so that your bass drum is angled a little upwards?

There would definitely be some degree of impact upon the hit of the bassdrum. the only way to minimize the impact, is by playing softer on the pedals.

And fyi, the carpet is to prevent the drum kit from sliding away, haha.

:D

yes..but seriously there's no way to not have any impact on the floor if you are stomping away on the pedal. maybe get those heavy duty rubber mats. steal some from the taxi boots. they are small but you can collect a few. they are thick rubber mats.

Maybe you an build a riser platform. I haven't tried this before, but I've heard you can make a decent one from a large thick piece of wood to support the entire drumset, cut two tennis balls in half and put the half-tennis-balls in the 4 corners to support it. That's supposed to absorb some of the impact to the floor.
