Whats a good choice?

Hi guys,

I've just picked up guitar and i'm interested in getting my own 'axe' as it's called.

There are so many models to choose from and i'm abit torn and lost.

Maybe some veterans can point me to a few models that are 'tried and tested' and sounds decent enough?

I don't really play metal and heavy rock stuff. I'm leaning towards more of the blues/jazz/funk genres. (Mike stern stuff mostly, hopefully? lol)

Budget wise, maybe around 600++? Am i able to get a guitar, amp and gig bag with that kind of budget? Or should i be investing more?

I know that when it comes to buying, i need to like what i hear etc., but i'm just hoping to have a 'shortlist' of sorts.

With $600, it is enough for u to get a guitar and accessories to start out... well, u have quite a no. of choices to choose from... like ibanez, cort, etc...

since u like blues/jazz/funk genre, u might wana get a strat or telecaster copy...

Check out the Stratocaster copies by Timbre and Smash at Standard Value. (www.standardvalue.com.sg). Very bang-for-buck and affordable, enough for you to get a good amplifier as well. Amplifiers wise, perhaps you could try Vox Pathfinder 15R.
