What to eat and what not to eat

Mmmz...
Good stuff for me would be:
- water .... lots of it, warm preferably.
- more water... :P
- tomatoes
- lemon or orange juice

Bad stuff on my current list are:
- ciggies..
- caffeine / alcohol
- milk products
- ice cream..
- gassy drinks
- chocolate
- bananas

Personally speaking (my views do not reflect other singers' of course) I dont have a problem with any kind of food & drink - just the amount of intake. I try not to have a big meal before a major gig.

No fav F&B favourites either but I like the "biting" taste of a strong teh halia after a long gig ... its got that nice soothing feeling.

Beware though, too much teh halia does make you fart which also comes in handy when testing microphones during sound checks (sorry sage).

......
I'm never using another studio mic during jamming. Ever.

My "bad" list is just coffee. I haven't found anything else that has a bad effect (well not any other food. Lack of sleep has a very bad effect on singing).

The good list is anything with guaifenesin (Woods cough syrup, Robitussin EX) and pei pa koa. And regular water throughout the day.

Milk and milk products are no problem for me. It's different for different people.

why not bananas? i don't get it.

hm yea plain water is best, before, during, and after a gig. go plain water!

anyway, i got this off a website. "When performing live, drink lukewarm water in between songs. Cold water shocks the voice and warm water...well, it doesn't taste that great."

I don't know how to explain it, but yknow the slimy middle bit? It tends to clog up my throat :/
Just me of course, I think some people would welcome that result but I don't like it, intrudes with my high notes...

Beer, hard liquor it goes both ways.

Bad for the poor listeners but great for the band. Well everything sounds great after a few rounds ahahahaha.
