what happen to a drumstick if its kept for too long?

This really depends on the quality of the sticks, the common hickory should be fine.
Some sticks may grow moss, or if overused may be chipped too much and break easily. Over chipping may also cause one stick to be heavier than the other.

Less commonly seen nowadays is the warping of sticks. The sticks may not be that "straight" (you could roll it on a table and check it). But this case is really really rare cause of the high production standards now a days.

what an uncommon question. hmm i don't know really. i lost my first pair of drumsticks. my cousin borrowed my second pair but lost one stick so i let him keep the other. i got this pair of plastic sticks. plastic, so i dunno what'll happen to it in a long time. then i got a pair of metal sticks for my birthday (a gift from the same cousin who lost my stick). i never used it though. too fragile. sentimental value. then i bought pair of carlos 5a's i think, cos my band went jamming at the last minute and i didnt bring my sticks so, yea. last resort. then is my zildjian roy hanes model.

so far, nothing's happen, visually, to my sticks, other that chippings. no moss or growths whatsoever.

and so... i guess i'm not answering you question!

experiment abit....

put your drumsticks in a pot
put fertilizers
remember to water it as well..
leave it long there..
see whether can grow into a tree or not..
