What do you guys feel about the Korg AX3000G?

Hi, not sure whether to post it in the gears section or here, so if its in the wrong section do pardon me.

anyway, i'm thinking of getting the Korg AX3000G from Citymusic in the near future, not sure whether its good or not, did some research and all, but i thought that there are other factors(e.g such as the amplifier).

To start of with, i own a Line 6 Spider IV 15W, a not-so-good amp, not sure whether if i'm getting the Korg AX3000G, would i need to get another amp? From what i heard somebody explained to me amps like the Spider IV would not go along with the multi-effects (can't remember what he explained to me), so in short, what do you guys think about it?

Ax3000 has amp simulator. I used to play it through normal $50 computer speakers and it sounds dam good. There's a reason why the amp simulator is there, so you don't really need to care what speakers you play it through. Just not through crappy $10 speakers

@Nicholasim

hmmm.. things that i'm looking for are stuff like whether does problems come up with it, or is it reliable on a long-term basis.
Also in terms of its functions, is it worth buying? i think its lesser than 300 on citymusic, thinking of getting it.
however my main worry is that it won't fit my amp.. hence thinking if i get the ax3000g would i need to spend more for an amp.

I dunno about others, but i have tried quite a few multi efx pedals, zoom g2.1, zoom g7.1 or somehting like that, Boss ME-something and korg ax3000g. I bought the ax3000g because a fellow musician here recommended to me, after that i sold it off and tried all the other pedals stated earlier. In the end, i went back to the ax3000g. No regrets for me, my favourite multiefx pedal. Easy to use, no bullshit pedal. I sold it off recently because of money problems and also because i wanted to keep it simple with just guitar straight into amp. If you ask me, i'd say go for it, give it a try at city music, im very sure city music has line 6 spider amps, request to test the ax3000g through that particular amp. Then decide if u want it.

You can look for Dhalif at city music, he used the ax3000g for a period of time. Im sure he will be glad to serve you and show you what the ax3000g is capable of.

Cheers!

I haven't had the chance to own an ax3000g, but a friend of mine does. What I'm saying here is just an assessment of what I've heard.

The ax3000g would be a good choice for you if you're already happy with your amp's overdrive. Its distortion seems sterile and uncontrollable (might have something to do with my friend's amp... it isn't very good to begin with). On the other hand, its other non-OD or distortion effects are quite good. They sounded surprisingly great through my friends amp. I'm just going to assume that the drive was the amp's fault.

I absolutely agree with Nicholasim's idea of running it through normal speakers rather than a guitar amp. My Boss ME-25 (which might be the one you tried, Nicholas) sounds better through my desktop's normal speakers (when running through the amp sim) compared to my Kustom 65 DFX. Oddly.

I think it's still best to try the pedal out. See if you like the sound, and worry about it from there.

@ GoliathZero

if its the amp problem i might have troubles with it, using a line 6 spider 4, and well the functions are 'not-so-good'... lol.

btw what you mean uncontrollable?
