Am thinking of gettin a delay pedal to spice up my clean sounds ...add a bit of acoustic dimension... Considering gettin either a DD -3 or a DD-6... Anyone used these 2 pedals before? And what would u recommend? And wat is their price? Thanks In Advance!!

GREAT deal. He wanted to deal tonight at 10 but he lives at like kaki bukit.. Pity though.

You can try the Ibanez DE-7. For the price, many have said its has the best sounding analog echo and delay. And it has 2.6 (!) seconds of delay in it.

Cheerio!

you could try the danelectro PB&J mini pedal. it's surprisingly analog-sounding, has up to 1 second of delay, has a long and short delay mode, and for the price (which is dirt cheap) it's actually an extraordinary pedal.

pros: cheap, sounds great, very warm sound, small print signature (good for cramped pedalboards).

cons: knobs are prone to breakage (get the protector and that'll solve that problem), on/off buttons are small, eats batteries like all delay pedals (get a power supply).

the EH Deluxe Memory Man delay pedal is great too, and fully worth the price!

You definitely can't go wrong with the DD3 n DD6. You should check out the ibanez and maxon analog delays if u want to go analog. The EH Memory Man is highly recommended too. If u want a variety of good delays maybe u should consider the line6 DL4....i've also heard good things about their Echo Park but i personally have not tried it

i'm using ibanez de-7, it's solid and sounds good, built like a tank too... highly recommended, but the battery drains in like a day if you are a hardcore user, so get the adapter if you decided to get de7

pardon my ignorance, but where can I find the following brands of pedal:
1. Ibanez
2. EH
3. Danelectro
4. Digitech
5. Maxon

Thankew!

Ibanez = Sweelee

Dan electro i know this shop in parklane, selling lotsa DVDs and books. outside got acoustics. i think 2nd or 3rd floor. gotta walk around.

maxon = davis

digitech = sweelee i think. they're together with boss... or was tt DOD... mmm

Oh and sorry, got a question to ask.

I see a lot of people keep talking about "if u wanna go analog"...

What do analog means? Is it only ONE effect?

So analog = something like DS-1?

then whats DD-3?

lol sry ryu i still dont quite get it.

so there are digital delays and analog delays? how different? sound? thanks.

DD3 = digital delay, strictly digital not analog.

for analog delays Boss DM2, VS H20 should be the ones to get.

ok i'm guilty of using DD3 although i like analog sounds. :P Think i like analog for distortion and other stuff, digital for modulation.

ok so... whats the diff between digital delays and analog delays? sry still abit blur.

sound wise? good for recording issit? i mean digital delays. only that? anything else?

Well most of the delays like the Boss are digital (think binary zeros and ones in computers) which replicate the notes you play perfectly. Analog delays like the EH ones rely on the analogue componets of their circuitry to replicate your notes, so there's natural decay in the notes and they don't sound as clinical or sterile. However, digital delay modelers like the Line 6 DL4 try to replicate these analog delays as well and they do a pretty good job.

The Digitech delay stompbox comes highly recommended as well. I've seen Music Plaza (Yamaha) at Plaza Sing stock them.

ic.. so i guess digital delays are naturally more expensive and better than analogs?

then why have analogs? since digitals are much better in a sense when it comes to live and recording.

or is it that like.. different taste for different player?

Urm.. the other way around I think. Most people consider analog delays to be more natural sounding and they're more expensive because of the components used to make them.

Most digital delay modellers try to replicate the sounds of these more expensive analog units.

oh... can name me a few analog delay? apart from the ibanez de-7?

oh and, how much is the ibanez de-7?

try to get the DE-7 for less than SGD100.00 for a 2nd hand copy. Issit an analog pedal? Dunno abt that but undeniably, it's cheap but goot. A one-stop solution for simple delays. I'll choose this over the Boss DD series. But tt's me. The vintage DM series is pretty good as well but expensive as well.

The Line 6 Echo Park has this amazing swell function (a simplified but much more controllable feature as compared to the Swell Echo in the Line 6 DL4). Sounds damn nice but it weighs like a mutha... heavier than some wahs I know.

Some folks prefer the analog decay in their delays whereas others like theirs to be crystal clear and evenly spread out. Up to your choice. It's best to do an A/B comparison so that you know what you like more.
