Well just like the thread says I am looking for a semi-acoustic guitar and my budget is 1 - 1.2k. I'm looking into the Ibanez AW series and Martin's 15 series and up. Any ideas? I heard washburn guitars are an absolutely good buy too!

Thank you all

I'm not sure if you can get a Martin 15 series for 1-1.2K, even the 1 series is around 1.3K and up, and they don't have pickups...

Perhaps try Takamine, Maestro and Yamaha?

I would recommend Crafter guitars. They are very well made. The main website has all the models neatly arrange for easy reference. I'm eyeing the De 12/n. It's a solid spruce top with dao side and back with LR Baggs pickup. Going for less that SGD600.

one advice i can give is don't limit urself to a strict budget. most of us know that more expensive doesn't usually mean better. i gave myself a max budget of $1k after this year's cny (lol ang baos!) for a acoustic w cut-away n plug-in but i settled for a $650 takamine from davis instead after trying a whole load of suitable candidates in various stores. i swore it sounded and felt better than the rest of the guitars i've tried that were priced above it.

since ur budget is slightly higher, i can suggest trying some of the alvarez at luthermusic works. good thing about the guitars sold there are that they're pre-setup and they feel totally good to play off the shelf.

Maestro and Takamine. Citymusic's sale, check it out. And unfortunately you just missed Swee Lee's 50% off. Still, Citymusic's Martin guitars, there are a few within your budget. However if you increase slightly you'll get a whole lot more... (around 1.4k)

Sorry people, out of topic for a moment but to make things clear...

Semi-acoustic means hollow-body electric guitar. The correct term should be electric-acoustic guitar.

Hahah, yeah that's right. :D anyway, alternatively you could get a 800++ acoustic and install plugins, maybe that would give you more choice?
