Yeap man...
Its pinch harmonics... The whole technique is laid out above by Bruce. Its not a simple technique and it requires a lot of trial and error plus practice. Stick with it man, its worth it as you can hear from your fave bands.
I'd like to add that the position of your picking hand, where your thumb strikes the string, also matters. The same way that natural harmonics, each different notes, occur on an open string on all over the fretboard, where your thumb is also makes a different.
For starters, try fretting your G string on the 5th fret and doing a pinch harmonic above the place where the 22nd fret is. You should get a nice, easy to get harmonic which I think is 2 octaves higher than the fretted note.
Then try shifting to the 9th fret (Same string) and strike at where the 26th fret should be... imagine... You should get a louder harmonic since your picking hand is more comfortably places... so play around!
When you get the harmonics going, its time to start doing crazy bending to make your guitar scream and wail away!
Eh... hope all that helped... heh...
