Vox AD30VT

Among the digital modeling amps that I have tested, the VOX I rate highly. The Line 6 spider does not match it in warmth.... Think the VOX has a preamp tube...

In my opinion, for that amt of money, you will hardly find a better amp with various tone possibilities.

the 60 watter has a 12" speaker but the 30 only has a 10" so there would definitely be different tone.

depends what you want to use it for.. 30 watt is already more than enough power for a small gig much less for home usage.. but there is an attenuator that can allow you to have similar tone cranked at lower volumes.

hmm.. oh k.... oh ya the other day when i tried it out at city music, was kinda disappointed wif the sound... the clean on it didnt sound good n the gain channels sounded dry... is it because of the speakers used? or maybe it was not cranked up?

did you use the preset settings? those suck bad.. for one in my old vox ad30 I used the AC30TB for cleans, and it has a nice sparkly feel, and for dirt I used stompboxes.. but some pedals dont seem to like the vox ad30 for some reason so you have to try them out before buying.. the high gain channels were dissapointing after I got over the majorly scooped tones.. i did a more indepth review somewhere.. you can search it up..

yea i tried the presets... was a total let down... the AC30TB is an amp model in the amp? i read some reviews on harmony central and read abt ppl changing the speakers for better ones and the overall sound improved alot.. yea i also read abt the amp sucking up the effects pedal or smth abt it...

the presets suck bad, most have too much bass and the speaker doesnt seem to handle bass well, with it becoming boomy and undefined too easily.. for cleans i drop the bass and boost the treble. i'm not too sure about swapping speakers but hey city music gives 12 month warranty so I wouldn't void it if i were you..

hmmm... good point... actually i'm looking for a hybrid amp at affortable price for church use n home use... i've though abt getting the marshall avt50 love the tone but... its kinda expensive n tooo big to carry around too...

hmm if you wanted to you can mic up a lower wattage amp.. say the ad30 with attenuation or the ad15..

about changing the speakers, heard somewhere that actually, when u use a celestion, the sound is 'changed' and the modelling itself doesn't fulfill its potential. That's why VOX didn't use them in the first place. Well, to each his own, i like the AD30VT..anyone got them for sale?

the amp was actually designed for the speaker in it so with different speakers, you may have earlier or later speaker breakup so a different tone too.. btw they say that the speakers in the amp are actually custom celestions but meh a little bassy for me.. a speaker with tighter bass and mids would probably be better..

sorry mate just sold my vox not long ago..
