voodoo lab pp2+

hi there,

I recently purchased a voodoo lab pp2+ to power my pedals. Having problems deciding how to power up my TC Electronic Nova Mod and my Eventide Timefactor at the same time.

I read that you can use either output 5 or 6 to power the Nova Mod, but will need to use both 5 and 6 to power the Timefactor.

Is there any way to power them both at the same time without having to use any additional power source or the auxiliary power plug at the back?

I have a godlyke iso-pump voltage converter. Will that be of any use in this situation?

Thanks for your help! :)

The godlyke iso-pump won't be of use since it only bumps up the voltage. What you need is more current, not voltage, and that's restricted by how much current your power supply has on tap.

Outputs 5 and 6 on the PP2+ have 250ma each. IIRC, the nova mod needs minimum 9v, 250ma. So if you want to power it with the PP2+, that takes one of the outputs out. The remaining one will not be sufficient for the Timefactor (needs 9v, 300ma I think).

You could chain 3 of the Outputs 1-4 (you'll need to get a custom cable made though, or alternatively use a 3-extension daisy chain in reverse) to get enough current to power the remaining pedal but it does seem like quite a waste of isolated outputs. If you do try this you could always daisy chain your low current pedals from output 6.

Alternatively, the Cioks DC10 will power the two pedals fine from Outputs 7 and 8.

I had a PP2+ and went on to a DC10. I think that might be the best solution to your problem without losing any outlets.
