Vocal Range and Type

In real voice?

Probably a tenor, but sing in baritone range more comfortable.

I could be wrong, well i arent pro.

the two octaves range from c3 to c5 is typical of a more lyrical tenor.

baritones and basses can usually hit the G below the c3 with sufficient "body and weight".

personally, i don't see the point in trying to classify voices too much.

Yep that sounds like tenor. Do you feel a transition in your voice starting around D above middle C?

About classification, I think it's useful as a means of communication. Rather than saying "My voice sounds kind heavier than the lighter voices and my range goes from a low G up to a high B", you can say "I'm a baritone". The classifications might not be 100% accurate, but they make communication simpler :)

Of course they also confuse communication when no-one agrees on what exactly a baritone is .. so it only helps among a group of people who have already agreed on the definition of those classifications.

Yeah, the problem is often that there will be certain voices which attract different classifications by different groups of people. Be that as it may, it might be, in the interest of communication, expedient to classify generally.

The reason for not over classifying it this: Your singing ability becomes unduely restricted by your own perceived limits of your voice. These limits are the averages. You do not want to be satisfied with just being the average joe.

Just some of my random musing.

So to Dennis, don't get caught up with whether your voice is SUPPOSED to be able to reach those pitches in the songs of those particular artistes. Thats my best advice.
