Recent recipient of the J.B. Guadagnini violin through the National Arts Council Violin Loan scheme, Tang Tee Khoon, returns to Singapore for the debut recital on this exquisite instrument.

Since winning the Best Performer award at the Singapore National Music Competition in 1993 at age 9, Tang Tee Khoon has gone on to be top prizewinners at international music competitions in Europe and USA. In 2005, Ms. Tang made her Carnegie Weill Hall debut as the winner of the East and West International Artists Auditions.

This August, she will be appearing with her regular recital partner, Sholto Kynoch (artistic director of Oxford Lieder Festival, U.K.) to present a full-length recital at Victoria Concert Hall.

On the program are 3 powerful sonatas. The concert opens with the warmth of Brahms 2nd violin sonata, followed by the fiendish Ysaye Sonata for Solo violin No. 6. After intermission is Beethoven's epic "Kreutzer" sonata, known for its unrelenting drive.

After the concert, be sure to stay behind to meet Ms. Tang. She is excited to be back performing for her home audiences. This will be the first in a series of concerts, organised specially during the time while Ms. Tang is in possession of the Guadagnini violin.
