Btw, Can i Change The Pickguard Of The MH Bass If I Do Gettit? And Where To Get Pickguards With Only 1 Hole For The Single Volume Knob? Thanks! :D

You're better off trying both, if possible. And the MH P Bass is just a overhyped P bass with limited controls. And the P Bass is already rather limited in controls itself. You're better of getting the Squier cause you can not only mod it but the pickguard's easier to find as opposed to the Hoppus one.

Sometimes it's a matter of whether you feel good with your instrument. Although many seasoned players might think that the Mark Hoppus bass is a complete waste of time, you like it because it's the bass you've been wanting to play all along. If getting a MH bass would = more play time, I would go for it. However, if you want to be more tone conscious, of course you go for the Squier.

Just my opinion cos I encountered such a scenario before. Wanted a Cherry red Gibson ES-335 but got a blue one instead cos it was cheap. end of the day, I told myself I really did not like blue :( .

You've got to try both to see which you prefer. It's not really about specs. It's about how the bass feels when you play it and whether you like what you hear.

Of the 2, the VM P bass would definitely have more versatility. But that being said if the MH Sig Bass has the tone/feel that you are going for then get it.

BTW I've got a VM P Bass for sale. PM me if you are interested...
