I don't think many of us here own vintage guitars that are above $5000. you have to truely appreciate such guitars to be willing to part with your money for it.

old wood does sound good. even if you pickups and electronics are half dead, nothing resonates quite like a old piece of wood. period.

Aiya, why slap a $5000 entrance fee to this thread? Now I cannot post my pauper Sungei Road stuff la dhey!

Woah that is one nice les Paul jr! How much did it cost you :O..
Nah.. I don't think all vintage equipment cost 5000 ! I bought a 1983 fender strat mia for about 850~

I don't consider any guitars 'vintage' only by age. For example, the early Les Pauls are considered vintage because only few of them are produced and later they were no longer in production. The demand in these guitars increased, thus those crazy price tags. Think about it, in the mid-70s these guitars were considered 'vintage' and they were not less than 25 years old.

Pre-1980 guitars are considered vintage. btw Fender JV (Japan vintage) is NOT vintage. just it's name but still a plain awesome guitar.

LOL the word vintage means its old. old=determind by age. haha and early les pauls, i assume that you must be referring to the mid fifties all the way until the early seventies. 25 years for a guitar defintely is old. :)

Sorry I can't really remember how much I got it for, definitely less than 5 grand though haha. Bought it for some guy on soft, I don't have it anymore though, the neck was way too slim and flat for me, sounded INCREDIBLE though, the jaguar has a really nice chunky neck, sounds great too.

Also these two guitars have had the darkest and smoothest feeling brazilian boards I've ever tried, must be all the years of them being played.

stuff that i used to owned, but not anymore...missing them.... vintage??
