Vintage, Foreign, whatever guitar

Where can I find shop that sells vintage guitars, but not gibson or fenders. Like Kay, Harmony or somewhat like that and are reasonably priced? Dont ask me to go to Guitar Connection though, i don't want to go round asking when the owner keeps asking whether i want to buy so he could answer my questions. arsehole. thanks

well, the your best bet IS guitar connection. Kelvin brought in a whole lot of those guitars just recently.

One thing to note is that giving a run down on vintage guitars can get tiresome (especially when the store owner has to go down to even a screw in detail). I guess it's natural for a store owner to clarify your interest because he might be busy with other things like guitar repairs.

If you think about it this way, what if you are the store owner and you have the impression that your potential customer is just asking random questions without expressing interest in purchasing? what is your next move? putting aside your work to provide details or checking with your customer whether he is interested and proceed from there?

with regards to a reasonable price, negotiate for one.

this is from my POV.

i understand bro, but i WAS intending to purchase one, i just wanted to know the pricing of several of their vintage guitars and what they usually take in, but..... I think you got the what happen next eh? also i was just asking for any other stores that takes in vintage gear. oh! and I envy the pedals on show/sale as well at GC, damn they're cool.

one good thing about the vintage guitars that Kelvin has is the fact that they have all been set up before he hung them on the rack. vintage guitars have a tendency to have a lot of wonkey parts.

you could try blackwood guitars. check with them to see if they bring in such guitars.

i've been to blackwood but they don't have the brands i was looking for(namely a Kay and Harmony), but didn't ask them whether they could bring in one, but i was more in search for a store who stocks vintage gear, somewhat like Guitar Connection, so I could see and try myself.

as for wonkey parts, that's the beauty of owning a piece of gear. I like the struggle of playing and owning a piece of equipment, new or old. I've been playing a starter guitar for almost 4 years and have went through alot to make it more "professional" sounding, at least in my ears. unless you're talking about there's no sound coming out from the guitar, then that is a different case.

btw, where is dan enterprise?

heh ^ its at the basement near the kiosk that sells bags and stuff, but yes Guitar Connection is your place to go if you're looking for these vintage guitars here in Singapore, you can try enquiring at blackwood if they would bring in stuff for you, or else you would have to resort to places like Ebay, which i normally wouldn't recommend for vintage guitars :)
