Hello folks,
It seems I am back on the market again! After a brief hiatus due to work commitments, I find myself once again in the fortuitous position to pursue music in my space time.
I’ve been playing guitar for about 15+ years now, as a serious hobby. I listen and play widely, and enjoy anything and everything from classical and jazz to psybient and death metal, from hip hop and pop to progressive metal and world music. Although I have toned the heaviness over the years, loud music is still something I am very much interested in J I have modest gigging experience over the last 15 years, most recently in cover band playing the funk and rock hits of yesteryears in a local pub establishment on a weekly basis. I’m no strange to the stage, but it would be a bit of a stretch to call me a professional..
In terms of collaborations, I would be interested in any of the following:
1. Playing live. Whether it’s as a 2 piece acoustic-ish act or a full band, whether on an adhoc basis or every Saturday, whether for enjoyment or for money, I’m open to almost anything and everything.
2. Recording. I have a Pro Tools set and can easily accommodate electronic instruments or a microphone. Drums are more problematic but I’m a decent drum programmer if I do say so myself. I enjoy recording covers just as much as I do originals, and I enjoy playing other people’s music just as much as I like playing my own.
3. Musical exploration. I’m always looking to expand my musical horizons, whether it be in terms of genres or learning from other people (who may or may not play guitar!). So if you’re looking to talk shop and are looking for more travelers on your musical journey, my door is always open with a “come on in” sign hanging outside.
Right now I am particularly interested in exploring the fusion of folk/ethnic music with rock/electronica, so if you do either of those things and think you could benefit from working with a guitarist please do give me a shout.
Time-wise, I am free Saturdays and week nights. Sundays are completely out, though.
Appended below are some recordings of mine that should give you a reference of what to expect (all recording/guitars by me. Some drum programming by me), if you like what you hear please drop me a line!
Say it ain’t so (Weezer cover)
Not sure (a work in progress)
Highway Star (Deep Purple cover)
Tornado of Souls (solo)
Tornado of Souls (rhythm)
Classical Gas (Mason Williams cover)
Sally’s song (Danny Elfman cover, my arrangement)
Letter From Home (Pat Metheny cover, my arrangement)
My Friend of Misery (Metallica cover)
Master of Puppets (Metallica cover)
Losfer Words (Iron Maiden cover)
