Vantage guitars

Hi,

My cousin has this Vantage made-in-Korea guitar. Its basically a H-S-S, with a Floyd Rose or some similar double-locking tremolo. It's body is contoured, slightly arched-top and quite thin at the edges, quite similar to an Ibanez Saber.

I'm wondering what background Vantage guitars has because this guitar, as I've inspected, is well-made and even sports a distinctive, beautiful finish. Worse thing is, it has a locking tremolo, and my cousin needs me to re-string it for him.

Anyone has any knowledge of Vantage guitars that you can share with me?

Thanks in advance :D

i've been told vantage was made by the factory that makes samick guitars. these were told by people, so please dont quote me.

it's well-built eh? i've seen a few lying around in shops selling used gear and yahoo auctions. going for real cheap too..

Feels well built, but thats on the exterior. I've never managed to find the time to test its sound.

Not even sure if it will explode when I re-string it.

Hi there,

I used to own this guitar and I'm very satisfied it served me for 4 years. This model is not anymore in production, but for the distinction that this was made from Korea will speak for its quality. It has a thin fast neck and solid body. Maybe with the exception of the pick-ups, overall at is a good guitar.

For the stringing of the floydrose (licensed) is a bit tricky since its a floating one, I did twice myself. I use only the 0.09~0.42 gauge since I dont want to mess up with the tremolo spring adjustment. I replaced the string one at a time (starting from the 0.09).

Hope this helps. Rock on!
