i bought myself a Korg tuner cos i kinda suck at tuning by ear.i what want to know is how do i tune the guitar to drop d or c using the tuner?cos what is shown on the manual is only standard tuning.

ok im gonna give this to you and its gonna hurt you quite bad, what i think you have done is youve bought a standard tuner:;the one that does EADGBE

well what you should have gotten is a Chromatic tuner
those that can go on probably any note so drop D;DGCFAD
and C:CGCFAD
a chromatic tuner will do those individual notes,
so its either you go back and ask for a change or get a new Chromatic tuner

I thought you could just pluck you string and tune it up to the pitch you want. No need to go and change the tuner?.

I presume the korg tuner you are using is either the korg dt-10 or the korg pitchblack tuner.
that is a chromatic tuner.
so basically, "just pluck you string and tune it up to the pitch you want". :D

A chromatic tuner helps you tune to any pitch. A, A#/Bb, B, C, C#/Db, etc. I'm sure that you can tune your guitar to dropped C or D with your current tuner.
