Hi peeps.
Would just like to find out if people still do get together for fun and do tributes to their favourite bands ie. for the whole jam session just play the songs from one particular band just for the fun of it.
I just had a really fun session yesterday from some cool dudes from SOFT whom I have never met. Kudos to them for responding just two weeks ago and setting a date for jam like last week and be prepared enough to have play the songs we love with just a few hiccups.
I am just wondering about others when they form tribute bands - is playing close to the original important or do you guys prefer to improvise?
Personally, I am one of those who are suckers for doing it as close as the original. I think it's because of the familiarity and the nostalgic feelings associated lah. It's like hey - we've always loved to listen to them over and over again without getting sick of the songs and here we are now playing them! Hee hee..
Now thinking about it, and if this tribute band we've formed is going to stick together for a long time - are we going to play the same songs over and over again until we run out of songs to play? Or do we want to go the next step and improvise on the songs?
Thinking again, I posted the original thread to look for members to just jam for fun lah but the 'forever planning' person in me's always wondering "What's next?".
Anyway, thanks Ady, Danzuk and Bromesta (not SOFTie)!!
:-D
