ToneLab Recording

Hi, guys. I just got myself a ToneLab (desktop version). But I have no idea how to record from it.

I used to have a Pod XT Live and was able to connect the USB connections to the computer and record off it.

Now the ToneLab have no USB connections. I tried just wiring the output straight to the mic input of mu computer. But the sound quality is like crap. Lots of pops and cracks. Nothing usable.

1) What is the best way of recording?
2) What is the cheapest way?
3) What do I need to buy for each or the above?

Thanks in advance!

Hmm wat is the souncard that you're using?

I understand that your POD XT had a USB port? I think that's a reason over the tonelab, if we assume your soundcard is basic stuff.

that's because i'm using an integrated soundcard at this moment of time as well.

U may then wish to invest in a decent soundcard from creative possibly. For home recording, I guess the soundcard, audio platform (your Vox tonelab for this case), and your guitar amp matter for decent home recording... You may want to look out for Studio Monitors too.

That was the cheapest way. If you want the best way... It'll be into the professional studios.

cheapest way:
can a plug converter and
use the "line in" not "mic in"
That will work,
most soundcard are 16bits 41/48KHz, will do just fine.

You can spend on better firewire or usb 2 interface for recording audio.
or better sound card if using desktop
M-audio soundcard has good reputation.
Creative is more for gaming and entertainment, (pay extra for features that you won't need for music)
try E-mu if you like creative
