Thinking of a new practice amp....help!

Right now I have a microcube but im thinking of upgrading.
Would like something 10 to 30 watts. nothing too loud...
Budget of max 300 (but willing to overspend abit)
I play rock and punk style music.... ( im still relli noobish)

I dont mind a simple amp, i dont relli need all the effects and stuff.

Im open to any suggestions!

How about the Ibanez Toneblaster X series? Actually with 300 you can get the Cube 30 X from Swee Lee during their half price sale if you're keen to stick to Roland due to familiarity etc.

Take a look at the Orange Crush series available at Peninsula too.

Though I've yet to try Sound Drive amplifiers, I totally trust Subversion to know a good amp when he hears one so do try that out too. They are available at Standard Value.

As a cheaper alternative I think Behringer amps actually sound very decent for their price.

YeaI'll try everything out. I was think of the toneblaster too , cos it does not have all the extra stuff... that i may not use.

btw how much is the line 6 spider III amp? jus wondering

Spider III 30 if i'm not wrong around 400.
Spider III 15 a little under 300
Either way, both are great amps.

go get those marshall MINI stack. MG something something forgot the numbers. I think soft has a review on that amp.

i do actually like the ministack. crunchy little fellow. for punkish stuff however i do say you MIGHT need to get a pedal or two later on. so, why not plan now and get an amp thats willing to accept pedals well too?

i persoanlly like the marshall microstack 2 also

this amp does colour the tone a lil but i like they way it sounds so its ok for me. if u would like a more neutral amp which colours tone less on clean channel, a vox pathfinder 15R is good for the money, or for higher power ratings, a 12" laney LX65R.

i assume that an amp which "takes pedals well" would be refering to an amp that's relatively crisp and clear and does not "colour" input signal much on the clean channel.

if u already have pedals, the 8" vox pathfinder 15r would be a good choice. if however, u don't have a pedals currently, a laney 10" LX35R or 12" LX65R would be good. these amps do not have inbuild digital efx. they have drive channels and a reverb. the vox 15R has a niffty inbuilt tremolo effect which people seldom use though.

i would say, an "upgrade" to ur current amp would be getting an amp with bigger cone sizes like 10" or 12". or u can even go 2 × 10". one good model that's in ur price range would be the smarvo GA-4010RC (http://www.allproducts.com/manufacture2/smarvo/01ga-4012r.html) which can be found at ranking sports at bras basah complex

if i'm not wrong, the line6 spider III are modeling amps with a lot of digital inside them. never tried them before thought i heard good reviews bout them. but if u are planning on getting pedals or performing live outside next time, don't go for a small amp with inbuilt efx cause its most prob to small for any future gigs of respectable size. go for either a solid practise amp minus the efx (to save some $) and get an external efx like a multi efx or stomp boxes so that u have a choice of using ur efx with house amps at a gig or, with ur not-too-shabby practise amp. imo, the idea here is basically get ur efx unstuck from ur amp.
