The visualsound Jekyll And Hyde

not very..i own one, and it made it on to my pedalboard for a total of two jams. from what i remember, the od is okay, just passable. kind of 808-styled but not as smooth. the distortion sounds like crap. no fidelity and way too fizzy. it's also (like all vs pedals) a lot bigger than it needs to be.

that said, what do i know? :D a lot of people say it's one of the best dual od/dist pedals available. i also bought it right when i was very into playing clean and slightly dirty and i haven't used it since, so my opinion is a bit biased.

aiya.. i was thinking of getting one.. randolf told me the dist side is a mt2 modded to sth... haha i cant rmb lah. i like 808 style stuff. for chordwork... bluesy kinda stuff

don't bother..that's exactly what i bought it for and it failed me completely. you might as well get an 808 and a rat, which will do the same thing but better. i think the od also runs into the distortion, which means that the sound comes out really harsh with both channels engaged.

If you are using humbuckers, you might not like the 808 vibe at all. Its too smooth IMO, kind of robs you of nuances. Perhaps a Boss SD1 style od would be better.

Oh but of special note, check out G77's Phoenix Custom Electronics pedals.

There's a rangemaster clone, a nice "leave it on" pedal, very responsive with the volume control, adds just a touch of hair when vol is up full, very cool booster.

There's an orange squeezer clone. Not much to say about this classic, except its smaller and the controls are mounted outside.

Finally, there's a buttload of fuzzes, I like the Fuzzy (purple one) a lot... lots of tweakability and sounds almost distortion like, wall of sound you know?

I know its not really similiar to your J&H thing, but sometimes, what you might need is just a really nice booster, or a fuzz. :D

Plus one on that. My experience with both pedals concurs.

Subdecay's Liquid Sunshine is something I personally like a lot. For my humbucker needs. Dunno how it would really be like with singles.

TyMusicCenter sells it.

The JH is actually a pretty decent 2 in 1 pedal where the od side is based on a variation of the 808 design n character. the dist side is based on the ds1 design which includes similarities to the rat, shredmaster n mt2 among others. the eq knob has the versatility to help u shape the dist eq character
for either mid boost or scoop. this makes the jh pretty neat for those searching for a pedal to help them zone in on their own idea of od or dist tones. because it's based on classic od and dist designs the jh is also moddable for personalizing it to one's taste. the other thing to note is that the od section is permanently placed after the dist section.

randolf may be you can tell them about the mod you can do on the JnH

i have forgotten what you have done to be honest

but i really liek mine now

so true. works well as a booster though

i got a deucetone rat.. it sucks for chords.. shld i return it to misse? cuz i act had these pedals in mind. deucetone rat plus jnh plus mi audio cb plus bbd or 808... or blackstar... anyone here has a deucetone rat?

it's great but the hyde really lacks mid imo. when i play in the band, the boosted channels sound great, but when i use the hyde alone, i get drowned. but 2 channels combined give a very good tone
