The Stage @ Jericho's - Looking for budding acts who are interested to perform!

Hi from all of us at The Stage @ Jericho's!

revisedstage2.png

Previously Jericho's Cafe, we provide a stage for young musicians and artists to showcase their talents, and aim to introduce your band to the world of gigs and live performances! As a social enterprise, all proceeds go towards our Community Service Programmes (Local and Overseas) conducted by YMCA.

We are open every last Friday of the month and so we are constantly on the look out for bands and artists who are interested in performing with us! The genre will preferably be Acoustic due to equipment constraints (we don't have a drum set on site) but this can be arranged.

Even if you aren't performing, feel free to come on down to support our local music acts (maybe performing for their first time!) while enjoying the drinks served amid the city skyline at our rooftop cafe.

For more information, do visit us at http://facebook.com/uniysmu to find out more and don't forget to LIKE our page for future updates!

We currently have openings planned on from 7-10pm on:
30 May
27 June
25 July
29 August
28 September
31 October
28 November
28 December

(2014)

If you are interested in performing or coming down for our opening, do PM us here or on FB/drop us an email at thestage.jerichos@gmail.com, preferably with a short demo of yourselves and we will get back to you asap. :)

These are some of the events we have previously held:

The Stage @ Jericho’s - Calling for Mentors for the Music Mentorship Programme

The Stage @ Jericho’s is going to be holding a brand new Music Mentorship Programme! If you have been thinking of serving the community while at the same time enjoying music, this is your chance :)

What is the programme about?
Our programme involves mentees (youths) being matched up with mentors, musicians that have an idea of how to find their way around the music industry. It will include a two session sharing session, tentatively to be held over either 4th, 11th or 18th June, and will be from about 6-10pm. Our programme will then end off with a concert. Prior to that, we will also be holding a rehearsal to let the participants get a feel of what to expect on the day of the concert.

Through this programme, we hope to inspire these youths to follow their passion and provide a platform for them to showcase their talents. We hope to see these youths improve themselves and would love to be a part of their learning process.

Who are we looking for? MUSIC MENTORS!
Musicians that preferably have had some experience in the music industry. We hope you will be able to pass on some tips to these youths, and be a good role model for them. We will not be conducting sessions to impart hard skills, such as how to play instruments, we just hope you will be able to guide them along the way, leading up to the final concert!

How long would I have to work on this and how much is expected from me?
Our programme will span from the start of June to the end of August (3 months).

What is in it for me?
A chance to perform at the finale concert with the mentees and other mentors! We are looking for 4 mentors, be it solo acts or bands. Also, you will be able to serve the community in a way you are comfortable with. No more boring meaningless CSPs, do something you enjoy and serve at the same time! :)

Please email thestage.jerichos@gmail.com for further queries about the full details of our programme and application. Deadline for application: 25 May 2014
