The Sexies - Never Again

thanks RGX, what's no horse run?

and thanks xynkro for the positive part of your comment. As for the other part, well, life just isn't fair, is it, haha. I'm just thankful we got the opportunity at all.

No Horse Run - translate it word for word to Hokkien

means , no competition, #1,AWESOME...somthing to that effect ;)

you guys not from the little red dot?

Good stuff guys. Well done!
Lots of impreovement from the previous stuff and the previous stuff was pretty promising. But I keep thinking that perhaps you guys should bring in another musician/instrument into the fray.
Lots and lots of good stuff there but I still feel that something is awkward and I'm not sure if its because the guitars are a main part of your songs and your songs don't normally have that much guitars and they certainly don't sound like that. Kudos for the effort in reaching new ground. But I still feel that something is missing to give you guys an added dimension that I feel will push you to a higher level in terms of songwriting, communicating, soloing - overall musicianship.

If I could wager a bet, I'd say go get a violinist and a percussionist. My thought processes are that these two will give you the added soloing that you need at times and to fill in at times with interesting sounds. You're about beats nd you seem to be doing a great job but I find the sound part lacking - perhaps more instruments will cover those areas well.

Good luck and keep posting. I'd also like to see you guys to a ballad.

Cheers
RoRK

hey guys just came back from confinement week. thanks for the kind words. I really want a brass section haha and i'm trying to get the drummer to play more auxiliary percussions eventually. and to RGX, yes we are from singapore!

To xynkro

You said that The Sexies don't deserve to open for Hoobastank? That's a laughable statement, considering that they are one of the better mainstream bands in Singapore.

In my opinion, Hoobastank should be the one opening for The Sexies. If The Sexies were based in the U.S. and Hoobastank were based in Singapore, Hoobastank will be just another third-rate alternative rock washup, whereas The Sexies have the ability to go far with their brand of music. "Never Again" deals with more creative songwriting than "The Reason" (so sick of that song!) and the vocalist of Hoobastank can't sing to save his life when they're performing live on stage.

What justification do you have in saying that they don't deserve opening for Hoobastank? Because Hoobastank is a "big superstar" band from the big ol' United States of America and The Sexies aren't? Or was it because your own band wasn't good enough to open for them? Or is it because you look down on the local music scene?

Whatever it is, I think The Sexies kick alot of ass in making REAL MUSIC and not some recycled pop-punk MTV bullshit.

Thank you so much, but i kind of respect hoobastank too because after watching them from backstage and from in front, i've realised how professional, experienced, and proficient they are. Doug robb's singing onstage has improved alot, and they're good musicians, but i really appreciate your support in any case.
