THE SALLYS Album Launch @ The Esplanade (28th & 29th Nov 08)

The debut album was recorded & mastered by Ron of Blueprint Studios through a new concept called 'Mobile Recording".

The album was recorded entirely at different studios and places which included Ben & Jerrys (The Cathay), Ron's MPV, Friend's bedroom, Friend's living room, Several jamming studios and more. (Who says no studio, can't do recording?)

The track listing can be referred to as follows:

In conjunction with Esplanade's "Even Ruder" event, The Sallys will be releasing their debut 10-track album; "Fairytale, Unlikely A Story" over a period of two days being 28th Nov 08 (1930hrs) and 29th Nov 08 (2200hrs)

The event however is a 3-day event which will include other kickass bands like I AM DAVID SPARKLE, STELLARIUM, THE PINHOLES, ETC, CESSPIT & THE STONED REVIVALS.

There are only 500 cds produced and it will be sold at the venue itself. Each album retails at SGD 16.

Set was mediocre but okay. Stoned Revivals was definitely was excellent! Their album sold out on the spot. The Pinholes, as always, energetic and happy. Long live rock and roll!

i went there ytd and today.. IADS was mind blowing as usual, the last song of their set was really moving.. my friends and i sat in the 2nd row for the sally's set, close enough to catch the squabble between the mats and the punks, rudies and whatnots.

it was funny when this particular mat shouted,"lu tak puas, gua hussein quai quai ah!" which means "u'r not happy, i'm hussein quai quai ah!" HAHAHAHA!!!! joke of the day, these mats.. on an overall, the sallys were really prolific after years of their existence.

As for today, i managed to catch the pinholes only.. Really enjoyed their set with their old stuff and also their new stuff, except that their drummer couldn't keep his time.. but everything else was superb, as usual.. but the main focus of the event, "hussein quai quai" :lol:
